There's nothing wrong with the Ventrilo server.
If you can't connect then it's either your firewall or your internet connection.
Try restarting your router/modem if you believe it not be your firewall.

Thats true, but your firewall may be blocking xfire and bf2 as Idle said earlier. If changing some settings on your firewall or router doesn't work maybey forwarding ports as a last solution might help but you shouldn't need to do that.

I would say try a complete uninstall of bf2 and reinstall, but no clue about you xfire??
Have you looked at your firewall?? Also turn it off, then try to log on. If you can log on with it off then its definately a firewall problem.

It's most probably your router. Try resetting it.

Need to know what kind of connection you have, ADSL/CABLE/DIAL-UP(:))
Then we can further advise to rule out the hardware.
Check that xfire and bf2 are in the windows firewall exception list find it at :
Right click 'my network places'
click 'properties'
right click 'local area connection'
click 'properties'
click the 'advanced' tab
click 'settings'
click 'exceptions'
You will see a list at this point, make sure 'xfire' and 'BF2' are both ticked.
have a crack at this.

#1 - Control panel > network and internet connections > internet options > security > make sure the right one is checked.
#2 - go to your firewall settings >restricted programs > make sure Xfire isnt chacked.
