desktop, unless u planning on taking it to uni, if u wana take it to uni. Then again i dont know that much about pc's. But if u gona get it for uni wait a year or so after vista has come out so there arent shit loads of bugs!

you can never have too much hd space.
also if you can set a budget of how much is going to be spent on the parts, it will be much easier to throw together a balanced system.
