I guess I should have made an announcement. But part of the reason that I haven't made an announcement is the very reason that I would have outlined in the announcement.
The deal with BF2s and KNTL was that:
1. KNTL get to have their clan name in the server name.
2. KNTL clan members get administration rights to the server provided that KNTL Clan Leaders and BF2s Head EU Server Administrators agree that the member deservers to have administration rights.
3. KNTL, in return, have to populate and administrate the server as often as they can.
4. BF2s have the final say on any decisions to do with the server and its administrators.
I believed, BF2s believed and I am sure you also agree that KNTL were not upholding their end of the bargain. KNTL have been less active on Battlefield 2 and therefore we are not fulfilling the requirements of the [s]contract[/s] Gentleman's Agreement -- to be active on Battlefield 2 and on the server.
As such, I saw fit to end the deal with BF2s.
---
Recently, the server has been empty virtually all the time. This is not only due to the fact that KNTL have been less active on there, but also because BF2s admins and, in general, BF2 players have been less active both on the server and on Battlefield 2 itself. With more and more people moving away from Battlefield 2, less and less people have been playing on the server.
It made sense to accept a proposal from a clan called WOoKie that is pretty much the same as our deal with BF2s was. WOoKie are bigger than us and will probably be more of an advantage to the BF2s server than we have been recently.
I doubt that WOoKie's deal will last as long as ours did because more and more WOoKies are moving away from Battlefield 2 too.
---
The termination of our deal was inevitable, as is WOoKie's. Think about it:
Will BF2s be a BF2 community forever? Will it have Battlefield 2 servers for ever? - (No)
Will players across the world be moving away from BF2? Will BF2 die away eventually? - (Yes)
Is it likely that BF2s will become something else and have servers for other games that we may be able to share? - (I'll let you answer that)
---
I'm sorry that we no longer have a server to call our own. But it was unfair, and to be honest, pointless for us to continue with the deal with BF2s.
However, all those that had administration rights sill have them. Or rather, those that should have admin rights can request to have them again (all admin accounts were wiped recently).
Any newer clan members that were not an admin on the server may still be eligible for admin rights because, after all, I am still one of the two Head Admins on the BF2s EU Server.
---
So, do not think that this is the end of our relationship with BF2s. Think of it as the end of our Battlefield 2 relationship.
