I would say go with a Core 2 Duo.

I take it you already have a hard drive?
I'd go with a core 2 duo, and PSUs that come with cases normally fail.

Make sure the PSU is powerful enough.

Don't skimp on the psu, buy it separately from the case, also, that CPU is shit, get an e6400/6600 or something.

What is the most you are willing to spend?

Teek: Anything, as i am buying it over the course of the next few paydays
Surgeon: I'm not listening to a guy with a welsh flag in his sig. And I have an aversion to Intel.
Peter: Yes I have got a HD, 300Gb, brand new.
PSU comments: thanks, just i was told by a computer technician to just get one with the case.
will look into it.
Cheers guys

Oh yeah, and XP all the way.
WHO IS WITH ME?

And as I could spend a bit more on the motherboard...
How about this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/113971
And may be willing to upgrade to the AMD Athlon64 3.2Ghz DualCore for an extra £50
And the PSU?
How about this: (500W) http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.a … tid=frooct
or the slightly more expensive: http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.a … turer_id=0

This is looking more along the lines of £450.
but as i spent £400 on my current PC with is less than half as good, I dont mind :awsm:

Lol k, don't take my advice, get a cheap ass PSU, with insufficient amps per rail and I can guarantee it will Die on you. That CPU will not be able to run even BF2 decently, with other higher end components liek you have, the CPU will be holding you back.

mate, my single-core Athlon 3.4Ghz can run BF2 on full spec more than easily.

You'd be better off getting an E8400; (£132.96)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139971

Getting an SLi mobo without SLi'ing is also a waste, something like this would be great; (£71.07)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136365

BFG 8800GT, a reliable company; (£135.99)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135024

DDR2 8000 from OCZ (I have the same RAM it's awesome, and cheap); (£51.72)

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/128022

That comes to £391.72 then all you need is a case of your choice and you have a solid pc.

You could give a budget range and I could see what I can do?

Also, you know that Intel really is the way to go right now? I have a £40 intel dualcore processor, which overclocked beats AMD's top-of-the-line quad core phenom, over £100.

I understand if you want to support AMD, but Intel is the gamer's choice right now.
