Actually Teek u aren't quite right.
If you take light and dark as colours on the elctromagnetic spectrum, both can be altered. A place may be dark but there is still a means of viewing it - Infra-Red being one of them. It is just a turn of phrase that "light is a lack of darkess" is not used to desrcibe how bright something may or may not be.
Anyway, can we get back to the topic point of being amazed at how daft Bob is...?!?

so if there is no waves within the visible spectrum there is darkness....#
If we could see IR waves....we would pown cos we wouldn't need light bulbs
