well if they dont specify a certain amount of pionts they mean 2 A levels
which is a pass in two and everything but a U is a pass
but they may want certain grades ( their definition of a pass maybe above a certain grade)
not A 2 But A levels its not averaged but they are both taken into account and added up to get your final A level grade
you should really talk to your careers advisor person at your school (if you are still at school)

As covenant says it works out by adding all the marks of your exams from AS and A2 which combine to get you your A level. Look into required grades etc. and if they want any specific subjects.

no, it just says 2 A levels.
here:
Qualifications: 5 GCSEs/SCEs and 2 A-levels or 3 Highers or equivalent. GCSEs/SCEs at Grade C/3 minimum to include English language and maths
I have the 5 GCSEs including an A in English Lan and a C in maths.
And Everything but a U is a pass?!?

I know a bit bout this all since it was something i was looking into doing back bout 5 years ago - 2 A-level passes at A2 level are what u need (so no U or N grades) but the better grade u get the more chance they will say yes. It's for the officer training stuff they do at R.A.F Cranwell (i think) so u get to do all the cool shit relatively soon (after 6 months basic training with only sundays off lol) Just give me a kick sometime on xfire and i'll tell ya bout it. ![]()

So you need 5 A to C's at GCSE level and two A-levels.
Getting those two A-levels means you have to do a year doing two subjects minimum, and pass. Meaning you'll have two AS-levels. Then you'll have to continue those two subjects on for another year. Resulting in two A-levels.
I'd say that it is more normal for people do 3 AS-levels and 2 A-levels.
Also, check with the RAF as they may not consider E's (or higher), to be passes. Also check that they don't have subject limitations - for example, Critical Thinking or General Studies may not count as A-levels.

General studies does count for them but only as kind of an added bonus - i.e. u get 2 A-levels (say grades C and D) and you also get general studies grade C - it makes the application look all the better.
Critical Studies... What the jesus h fucking christ is that? Sounds like some sort of A level dealing in WOW or GuildWars and how to get the best out of your weapon...

Critical Thinking*
I guess this link sums it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_t _classroom
However ... it's basically just a doss lesson where no one does anything. Well, so I hear anyway. I've never actually done critical thinking, further maths ftw.

Cheers Alex for your everlasting constructiveness. (no sarcasm intended)
Oh and Damien, Do they have planes and helicopters in finland?
I heard we sent you a few out of service spitfires a few years ago...
We have here... Nothing!
